About TVNET.EU

50 years after the birth of the EU, the first Europe-wide TV network with correspondents in all the EU Member States as well as neighbouring countries is being established. Over 500 million citizens have the opportunity to watch European news and innovative programmes which take into account the point of view of the European citizens as well as focus on areas of their life, no matter which part of the continent they come from.

European news channels, public-service TV stations and top local and regional channels have come together to form TVNET.EU with the aim of providing an up-to-date cross-boarder programme with a pan-European focus. Programmes range from gripping journalism, which is hard-hitting and excellently researched, to new types of entertainment shows for young people.

The news shows tackle ‘hot’ topics in an innovative, lively and sometimes humorous way. There is a strong emphasis on reporting the actual and real impact that EU policies have on the lives of Europeans.
To guarantee excellent technical quality our technical partners are ENEX (European News Exchange) and BCE (Broadcast Centre Europe).

  • The European Parliament recognises that public service broadcasters are not only tool that can be used to get the EU’s message across to its citizens, as empirical evidence suggests that private broadcasters are also taken a key resource for EU news coverage and can assist in the development and promotion of a European public sphere.
